Wayne Ball Auction and Realty
At Wayne Ball Auction and Realty auctions are more than fast talk. They are a professional method of marketing through competitive bidding.
I started my career in the auction business in 1972. As I was fresh out of auction school I went to work for an established auction company for my first 2 ½ years. I opened my own company in 1975 full time and am still in the same location.
What Do We Sell?
I have sold real estate (homes, industrial, commercial, and farms), farm and heavy equipment, restaurant-grocery store-packing house equipment, households, guns, coins, stamps, jewelry, antiques, automobiles, business liquidations-downsizing-stock reductions, and the estate of loved ones. I specialize in going on site with our auctions. However, sometimes a sale can be too small for a sale of its own or it can be in storage. Whether it be a business or an estate it can be moved to our facility for a good sale.
Our Auctions and The Way They Are Conducted
Our auctions start with the signing of a contract. Then we (my helpers and I) come in and go through everything to evaluate what we are selling. This is so that it can be properly marketed. It is advertised in the paper, on the internet sites, and by mail. In preparing for the auction we start setting up (preparing the merchandise to be sold) about 2 weeks prior to the auction. Some items are sold individually and some in lots. They are properly displayed to draw the attention during inspection they deserve. Items are then tagged and numbered and cataloged. This helps potential buyers identify what is being sold better and when it will be sold. The auction starts with item number one and proceeds buy the number down the line in sequence as it is numbered. We take care of collecting the money and paying the seller. Any time during the auction the seller is welcome to see how the sale is progressing. After all it is the seller’s goods. At the end of the sale the seller is given an accounting of the sale and settlement date.
